“At The Race” an artwok of Helvig Agnete Kinch

Art description: Original high quality oil painting on canvas. A magnificent scene from a horse race where one of the horses is without a jockey. A vivid scene with a great sense of movement. Excellent color choice and details.

Artist: Signed in monogram “HK”. Helvig Agnete Kinch (1872-1956) is a well-listed artist. She received her education as an artist at the Academy of Fine Art for Women in Copenhagen under Viggo Johansen (1891-94). She travelled widely in Europe and stayed for longer time in Greece. She received a number of prizes, four from the Academy, Neuhausen’s Prize twice, Soedring’s Prize and Tagea Brandt 1933. She was a co-founder of the women’s association of artist “Kvindelige Kunstneres Samfund” and its first chairman. She exhibited widely; at Charlottenborg for many years, at Kunstnernes Efteraarsudstilling (The Autumn Exhibition of the Artists), in Forum and in the Women’s Association. Her works are represented at Rander’s, Soenderjylland’s, Storstroem’s, and Vejen’s museum.

This painting has been exhibited at Charlottenborg (see the mark at the reverse side) and is considered one of her main works.

Condition: Very good. The canvas bulges a little. No missing paint, holes or tears. The frame is in a very good condition.
